Vikings: Wolves of Midgard drops you into a Norse world on the edge of Ragnarok, where the Fire and Frost Giants are joining their armies and the only thing standing in their way is a clan of exiles. Games Farm's action RPG blends the history and mythology of the Vikings with a dark fantasy twist: isometric hack and slash combat, a progression system built on blood sacrifice, and a winter so harsh that the cold itself will kill you if you linger.
Ragnarok Comes to Midgard
Legend says that when the coldest winter descends, the Jotan will return to take their vengeance on the Gods of Asgard. That winter is here. The Ulfung, the Wolves of Midgard, are a notorious band of ostracized Viking warriors, bloodied but unbowed after the destruction of their village. As the new clan chief, you rebuild what was lost, rally the survivors, and spearhead the charge against the fiendish creatures of the Fimbulwinter before Midgard is annihilated.
Play as a fierce Viking warrior or a merciless shieldmaiden and travel beyond earthly Midgard into freezing Niflheim and boiling Balheim, facing dire wolves, undead hordes, goblins, giants and the beasts of Ragnarok along the way.
Blood for the Gods
Every enemy you cut down leaves blood behind, and blood is what the gods want. Collect it from the fallen and carry it back to the altar, where sacrificing it earns gifts from the Gods that enhance your powers. It is the heart of the game's progression, and it turns each raid into a tribute run: the more you kill, the more you have to offer, and the stronger the Wolves grow.
- Power-infused amulets
- Equip talismans tied to the gods themselves, like the Talismans of Thor or Loki, to make their abilities your own. Swapping amulets reshapes how your chief fights, so it pays to experiment.
- Trials of the Gods
- Put your new skills to the test in dedicated challenges that push your build against the toughest the realms have to offer. Complete them to earn further rewards worth the risk.
Steel, Rage and the Art of Combat
Combat is fast, bloody and satisfyingly physical. Decapitations and dismemberment are common, and the arenas fill with the remains of everything you have fought. Mastery comes from committing to your weapons.
- Perfect your skills with each weapon type to unlock its true potential. Swords, axes and hammers, bows for keeping the Jotan at range, and spell-powered canes for those who prefer sorcery to steel all have their own path to master.
- Activate Rage Mode and let your anger take hold. For a short window your chief becomes a berserker, overwhelming packs of enemies in bloodthirsty combat when a fight turns against you.
- Mix and match talismans, weapon skills and gifts from the gods to build a warrior or shieldmaiden that suits how you like to fight, then refine it as harder realms demand more of you.
The Cold Is Coming for You
The Deadly Fimbulwinter is not scenery. Out in the frozen realms, exposure builds the longer you stay in the open, and nature's wrath will wear your chief down as surely as any giant. Survival means reading the map for warmth and shelter, moving between fires with purpose, and choosing when to push on and when to fall back. It gives the exploration a tension that most action RPGs never attempt, and the contrast with Balheim's heat and the swamps of the undead keeps every realm feeling distinct.
Two Wolves Hunt Better Than One
The whole journey to the Shores of Midgard can be shared. Team up with a friend in two player online co-op, or fight side by side on one screen, and divide the clan's work between you: one of you wading in with an axe while the other rains arrows from the ridge. Four difficulty levels let you tune the challenge to your skills and talents, and for those who want the Fimbulwinter at its most unforgiving, there is the unrelenting hardcore mode.
The wolves are cold, they are hungry, and they will stop at nothing to survive. Take up the chief's mantle, gather blood for the altar, and lead the Ulfung into the winter that ends the world.
