The Sims 4: Snowy Escape

TrendingDigital

The Sims 4: Snowy Escape takes your Sims to Mt. Komorebi, a snow-capped, Japanese-inspired world where the day can start with a downhill ski run and end with hot pot around a kotatsu table. Between the slopes, the hot springs and the bamboo forest trails, this expansion pack introduces Lifestyles and Sentiments, two systems that let your Sims' habits and shared experiences shape who they become.

Welcome to Mt. Komorebi

Mt. Komorebi is a mountain world built around contrast. Its lower neighborhoods mix quiet residential streets with modern touches, the mid-mountain village keeps a more traditional feel, and the upper slopes are given over to the snow itself, with lifts, trails and the summit waiting above. Up in Yukimatsu the snow never melts, with fresh snowfall and the occasional thundersnow rolling over the peak, so a clear morning invites a hike while rough weather turns the same path into a genuine test.

Snowy Escape is an expansion for The Sims 4, so it requires the base game and all of its updates. The base game is free to download, which makes this pack an easy first step into a bigger Sims world.

Chase Your Thrills on the Slopes

The mountainside offers several ways to get your Sims' pulses up, and each one carries its own skill to build:

  • Skiing and snowboarding send Sims down the runs, with tricks and a growing skill that separates a wobbly first descent from a confident carve down the steepest slope on the mountain.
  • Sledding is the shared option: bundle two Sims onto one sled and let them laugh, or shriek, their way to the bottom, a small moment that builds relationships as much as thrills.
  • Rock climbing adds a new skill and the pack's most demanding activity. Excursions toward the peak are daring and sometimes dangerous, and a Sim's preparation and endurance decide whether the climb ends at the summit or in a tumble.

Find Your Zen

When the adrenaline wears off, Mt. Komorebi slows down. Natural hot springs let your Sims soak their worries away, and a hot pot around the kotatsu table turns dinner into a long, warming social occasion. Hikes wind through bamboo forests and snowy terrain, with mindful walks and soothing music giving Sims new tools to take control of their emotions and steady their moods. The pack is as much about a calm evening in as it is about a wild afternoon out.

Build a Japanese-Inspired Sanctuary

Build and Buy mode receive a substantial set of Japanese-inspired furniture and architecture, spanning traditional detail and modern minimalism:

Shoji doors, windows and screens
Sliding paper panels divide rooms and soften the light, letting you shape open, flexible interiors that feel very different from anything in the base game's catalog.
Tatami mats and the genkan entryway
Lay tatami flooring, set up a genkan where Sims take off their shoes as they come in, and hang paper lanterns overhead for a warm, low glow in the evening.
Rock gardens and outdoor touches
Rake a rock garden outside, add bathing and lounging spaces, and design a home that fits the mountain rather than fighting it, whether it sits in the village or up near the snowline.

Lifestyles and Sentiments

Lifestyles are the pack's lasting change to how Sims behave. They manifest in response to what a Sim actually does over time, so a Sim who spends every weekend outdoors, or one who never leaves the couch, develops habits, moods and interactions to match. Sentiments work on relationships instead: a shared adventure, a kind gesture or a bitter argument leaves a mark that colors how two Sims treat each other long after the moment has passed. Both systems reach every household you play, not just those living on Mt. Komorebi.

Pack a warm coat, pick a slope and see who your Sims become on the mountain.
