SNEG is a London-based publisher founded in 2020 by Oleg Klapovskiy and fellow former GOG staff, built around a straightforward mission: keep classic PC games playable, purchasable and properly supported on modern platforms. Klapovskiy came from GOG's business development side, where re-releasing older titles meant years of work with rights holders, and when GOG wound down its own brief experiment in self-publishing classics in the mid-2010s, SNEG took over most of that catalog and carried the work on as an independent company. Rather than remasters, the label focuses on the unglamorous side of preservation: securing rights, fixing compatibility and getting games onto Steam as well as GOG so they reach the widest possible audience.
The catalog spans decades of PC history, from strategy and RPG classics to cult curiosities, and it keeps growing. In 2025 SNEG finally shipped Captain Blood, a swashbuckling action game first announced more than two decades earlier and long presumed lost, and in April 2026 it launched the Warhammer Classics line with Games Workshop, bringing more than twenty seminal Warhammer titles back to PC, several of them on Steam for the first time. SNEG also co-publishes select titles from independent studios, which is how Double Damage Games' Rebel Galaxy came to carry the SNEG name alongside its developer. For players, the result is a dependable source of older games that simply work, with the original developers credited and the history intact.
