Call of Duty: Black Ops III - Zombies Chronicles Edition brings together Treyarch's most ambitious Black Ops game and the expansion longtime Zombies players spent years hoping for. Alongside the full base game, with its Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies modes, you get eight classic Zombies maps from World at War, Black Ops and Black Ops II, completely remastered and playable within Black Ops III.
The Black Ops III Campaign
The story is set in 2065. Cybernetically enhanced soldiers connected through direct neural interfaces have changed the nature of war, and the line between human and machine is getting harder to see. You play as one of these new Black Ops operatives, fighting beside Hendricks from Singapore to Cairo to Zurich as the hunt for a rogue squad leads somewhere far darker than either of you expects.
Cybercore abilities shape how each fight plays out, letting you take control of enemy drones, disorient human soldiers and turn the enemy's own machines against them. You can play the Campaign as a solo story or as a co-op operation with up to four players, and it holds up well to a second run with friends.
Multiplayer Built on Movement and Specialists
- Chained Movement
- Thrust jumps, controlled wall runs, power slides and swimming combine into one fluid system that lets you carry momentum across the map. The best players link these into routes and attack from angles their opponents never see coming.
- Specialists
- Every match puts you in the boots of a Specialist, with a choice between a signature weapon and a signature ability. From Ruin's Gravity Spikes to Outrider's Sparrow bow and Seraph's Annihilator, they add a layer of timing and tactics to every gunfight.
- Pick 10 Create-a-Class
- The Pick 10 system returns, giving you ten points to spend across weapons, attachments, perks and equipment. That makes building a class around your own playstyle as flexible as it is rewarding, whether you favor run-and-gun or holding an angle.
Zombies: Shadows of Evil
Black Ops III's launch Zombies map, Shadows of Evil, trades the battlefield for the rain-slicked streets of 1940s Morg City. Four strangers with dark secrets, a magician, a crooked cop, a burlesque dancer and a boxer, are drawn into the schemes of the mysterious Shadowman, with Jeff Goldblum, Ron Perlman, Heather Graham and Neal McDonough voicing the cast. Take on the Beast form to reach places no human can, work through the map's rituals and lean on the new GobbleGum system for an edge, solo or with up to three friends.
Zombies Chronicles: Eight Classic Maps, Remastered
Zombies Chronicles rebuilds complete maps from the original Zombies saga in HD, all playable within Black Ops III. These are the maps that turned a hidden bonus mode into one of Call of Duty's defining experiences.
- From World at War
- Nacht der Untoten is where it all started: a cramped bunker, boarded windows and a Mystery Box. Verrückt splits your team across an asylum and introduced Perk-a-Cola machines, while Shi No Numa brought hellhounds, the Wunderwaffe DG-2 and the original crew of Dempsey, Nikolai, Takeo and Richtofen.
- From Black Ops
- Kino der Toten drops you into a ruined German theater with a teleporter to the Pack-a-Punch, and Ascension takes the fight to a Soviet cosmodrome with lunar landers and the Gersh Device. Shangri-La hides traps and secrets in a jungle temple, and Moon caps the Black Ops era on the low-gravity Griffin Station with an ending that reshaped the whole saga.
- From Black Ops II
- Origins, widely considered one of the best Zombies maps ever made, sends younger versions of the four heroes into a muddy World War I excavation site in northern France. Giant robots stomp across the battlefield there, and four elemental staffs are waiting to be built.
Maybe you remember surviving round 30 on Nacht der Untoten, or maybe you are stepping into Zombies for the first time. Either way, this edition puts eight of the saga's defining chapters in one place alongside a full Black Ops III. Board up the windows, find the Mystery Box and see how long your team can hold the line.
