Battlefield V takes the series back to the conflict that started it, from the fjords of Norway and the farmland of France to the deserts of North Africa and the islands of the Pacific. Multiplayer scales up to 64 players, with Grand Operations stretching a single campaign across several rounds and Conquest and Breakthrough anchoring the classic loop of capturing, defending and pushing objectives. Tanks, fighters, bombers and landing craft are all part of the fight, and destruction reshapes the maps as the battle rolls on.
Squads That Carry the Fight
This entry leans harder on teamwork than any Battlefield before it. Any squad member can revive a downed teammate, ammunition and health are scarcer so resupplying from support players matters, and fortifications let you rebuild sandbag walls, trenches and gun emplacements to hold ground. Combined Arms adds cooperative missions for two to four players against AI, a good way to learn the maps before stepping into a full server, while Firestorm offers the series' own take on battle royale.
War Stories Campaign
The single-player War Stories follow soldiers whose battles rarely made the history books, including a Norwegian resistance fighter racing to sabotage a heavy water plant and the Senegalese Tirailleurs fighting for a France that would rather forget them. Each story stands alone, so you can pick them up between multiplayer sessions, and each one teaches the movement, weapon handling and vehicle play that the rest of the game builds on.
