The Sims 4: Spa Day is a Game Pack for The Sims 4 built around a simple idea: your Sims deserve a break too. Maxis turns the daily grind of careers, needs bars and household drama into a reason to visit the Perfect Balance Spa, where yoga classes, guided meditation, stone massages, mud baths and a steaming sauna wait to melt the tension away. The pack's free Refresh update folded in manicures, pedicures, facial masks, three new aspirations and a trait that makes some Sims need the spa more than others, and all of it comes with the pack today. You will need The Sims 4 base game to play.
Welcome to the Perfect Balance Spa
The heart of the pack is a new spa venue. Drop the prebuilt Perfect Balance Spa lot into any neighborhood and it is open for business right away, or design your own from 125 new Build Mode objects: massage tables and chairs, saunas, mud baths, yoga mats, meditation stools, lounge seating and the soft lighting and decor that give a spa its hush. Sims arrive with tense moodlets from a rough day and leave carrying calm, focused or energized buffs that shape how they perform at work, in conversation and at home for hours afterward.
The Refresh also introduced the High Maintenance trait. These Sims get rattled by trivial things and tense up faster than everyone else, but a spa visit brings genuine catharsis, which makes them the most rewarding household members to send through the doors.
Master the Wellness Skill
Yoga and meditation feed a dedicated Wellness skill, and it grows in a way that feels distinctly Sims. Early levels are about holding poses without toppling over and sitting still on a meditation stool. Higher levels unlock the good stuff: Sims who have truly found their center can levitate during meditation and teleport across the lot, which never stops being funny when it happens mid-party.
Children can join yoga and meditation sessions now, so the whole household can practice together, and skilled Sims can earn Simoleons by teaching mindfulness to others. Three new aspirations give the skill a long-term goal: Inner Peace for Sims learning to keep negative emotions in check, Self-Care Specialist for Sims who turn manicures and massage-table work at the spa into a living, and Zen Guru for masters who want to share what they know and train a successor to carry it on.
Treatments for Every Kind of Stress
- Massages
- Reflexology, hand massages and full stone massages on the table each carry their own benefits, from easing a sore body after the gym to clearing a bad mood before a date. Sims can give treatments as well as receive them, so a household with a massage table can pamper each other at home.
- Mud baths and the sauna
- A soak in a mud bath and a session in the sauna are slower, quieter ways to unwind. Both are social spaces too: two Sims sharing a sauna or lounging in adjacent tubs will chat and build their relationship while the stress drains away.
- Manicures, pedicures and facial masks
- Added in the Refresh, these finishing touches round out a visit. A mani-pedi leaves Sims feeling put together, a facial mask rewards patience with a glow, and Sims chasing the Inner Peace aspiration will want every one of them on their schedule.
Bring the Calm Home
Nothing about the spa has to stay at the spa. The Build Mode set works just as well for a home wellness room with a sauna and yoga mat, and the 50 new Create-a-Sim items dress your Sims for it: stylishly casual loungewear, effortless hairstyles and full nail support with new colors, shapes and designs so a fresh manicure actually shows. It is a pack that quietly changes the rhythm of a household, giving stressed Sims somewhere to go and giving you a reason to slow down with them.
Book your Sims a day at the Perfect Balance Spa, teach them to levitate, and watch a stressed household learn how to breathe.
