The Sims 4: StrangerVille is a Game Pack built around something the series usually leaves to your imagination: a mystery with clues to follow and an answer waiting at the end. Maxis sends your Sims to a sunbaked desert town where the weather is wrong, the plants are dangerous and the locals are acting very strangely, and it is up to your household to find out why.
Welcome to StrangerVille
StrangerVille is a rural desert town shrouded in secrecy. On the surface it looks like a quiet stretch of the American Southwest, all dusty lots, scrubland and open sky, but it does not take long to notice the weird weather, the creepy townies and the plants you would be wise not to touch. Odd collectibles turn up for Sims who go looking, and every corner of town seems to hold one more question than answer.
Unravel the Story
StrangerVille pulls your Sim into a chain of unique and mysterious events, and the town gives plenty of hints that something is being kept quiet.
- Unmarked Vans
- Strange vehicles begin appearing in the neighborhoods with no explanation and no markings. They are one of the first signs that someone with a great deal of authority is paying very close attention to what happens in StrangerVille.
- Secret Listening Devices
- Government agents are not above bugging the town. As your Sim digs deeper, the sense of being watched becomes part of daily life, and figuring out who is listening, and why, becomes part of the puzzle.
- Scanners
- Scanners are key to detecting the unusual. Sweep them over the people, plants and places around town to pick up the readings that move the investigation forward and bring the truth a little closer.
Crack the Code
Solving StrangerVille takes more than curiosity. Your Sims draw on their military training to search for clues, gather evidence and work their way toward the secret lab at the center of the mystery. What sits behind its doors is best discovered for yourself, but the trail there is the heart of the pack: a structured story that still leaves room for your Sims to be themselves, pursuing their own lives, households and ambitions between breakthroughs.
Suit Up Your Sim
- Desert-inspired clothing and military fatigues get your Sims in the mystery-solving mood, with practical looks built for long days out in the heat and the dust of StrangerVille.
- Conspiracy-themed clothes, secret agent attire and a hazmat suit prepare them for the end, whether your Sim is hunting for the truth or trying to stay one step ahead of it.
- The pack adds 40 Create-a-Sim items and 111 Build Mode items, so the desert look carries from your Sim's wardrobe right through to the homes you build.
If your Sims have ever needed a reason to leave the comforts of the suburbs behind, StrangerVille offers a good one. Pack the hazmat suit, keep an eye on those vans and start asking questions. The town has been waiting for someone curious enough to find out what is really going on.
