King's Quest: The Complete Collection is The Odd Gentlemen's re-imagining of the series that helped define the graphic adventure. Bedridden and reflective, an aging King Graham shares the untold tales of his life with his granddaughter Gwendolyn, from his first bid for knighthood to the challenges of ruling Daventry. This collection brings together all five chapters and the playable Epilogue, so the full story is yours from the first page to the last.
A Story Told Across a Lifetime
This King's Quest does not remake the classic Sierra games. It weaves new adventures into the gaps between them and treats the originals as canon. Each chapter opens at Graham's bedside, and his storytelling frames everything that unfolds on screen: a hand-crafted storybook world full of whimsical characters, sharp humor and genuine warmth. Christopher Lloyd voices the elderly Graham, and the cast also includes Wallace Shawn, Tom Kenny, Josh Keaton, Maggie Elizabeth Jones and Zelda Williams. The collection was nominated for Adventure Game of the Year at the 20th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards.
Five Chapters and an Epilogue
- Chapter 1: A Knight to Remember
- A young, wide-eyed Graham sets out to join the Knights of Daventry and competes in a tournament against seasoned rivals. The chapter also revisits one of his earliest legends, as he braves a dragon's lair in pursuit of the Magic Mirror.
- Chapter 2: Rubble Without A Cause
- Graham faces his first real test as king when a horde of goblins takes Daventry hostage. Held captive with his own subjects, he has to look after his people while hunting for a way out, and the choices he makes weigh on the rest of his reign.
- Chapter 3: Once Upon a Climb
- A young king in search of a queen finds his quest leading him up a mysterious tower. Romance, riddles and some very personal decisions shape the family Graham will one day build.
- Chapter 4: Snow Place Like Home
- Years later, Graham is a husband and father, and a new adventure puts everything he has built to the test. It is a more reflective chapter, as the weight of time begins to settle on the king of Daventry.
- Chapter 5: The Good Knight
- In his twilight years, Graham sets out on one last adventure. This chapter pulls the threads of the collection together and brings to a close the story he has been telling Gwendolyn all along.
- Epilogue
- With Graham's tales told, Gwendolyn steps into the spotlight and sets out on an adventure of her own. This playable coda is exclusive to The Complete Collection, and it carries the family's legacy forward to a new generation.
Choices That Shape a King
- At key moments you choose between the noble pillars of Bravery, Wisdom and Compassion. Those decisions ripple through Graham's journey and into later chapters, shaping the king and the man he becomes.
- Many puzzles have more than one solution, so experimenting with your inventory and the world around you pays off. Curiosity is rewarded far more often than brute trial and error.
- Along the way Graham befriends some of the most unexpected and peculiar companions in Daventry. Each one adds humor and heart to a kingdom that feels lived in and full of personality.
Plenty of Ways to Die
True to its Sierra roots, King's Quest is happy to let Graham meet an untimely end. Here, though, a misstep is part of the fun rather than a punishment. The old king's narration lets you know that is not quite how it happened, and you are straight back into the adventure. The mix of wit, clever puzzles and heartfelt storytelling is what made the original games beloved, and it carries this collection too.
Whether you grew up guiding Graham through Daventry or you only know the stories, this is the collection to settle in with. Pull up a chair beside the old king and let him tell you how it all really happened.
