DiRT Rally 2.0 dares you to carve your way through a selection of iconic rally locations from across the globe, in the most powerful off-road vehicles ever made, knowing that the smallest mistake could end your stage. This is Codemasters at its most uncompromising: a rally simulation that hands you a car, a co-driver and a road you cannot see the end of, then leaves the rest to you.
A handling model with consequences
The authentic handling model is the heart of the game. Weight transfer, tyre choice and surface degradation all feed into how the car behaves, and a stage that ran cleanly for the first driver through will have deepened ruts and displaced gravel by the time you take your turn. Fallibility is modelled too, so a clipped bank or a missed braking point carries forward into everything that follows rather than being forgotten at the next corner.
Six rally nations, stage by stage
The rally campaign takes you through real-life off-road environments in New Zealand, Argentina, Spain, Poland, Australia and the USA. Each one has its own character: fast flowing gravel through forest, loose mountain shale, and the tarmac sections where the car finally settles and the pace climbs. There is no racing line to follow and no map to lean on, only your instincts and the pacenotes your co-driver reads out ahead of every crest and junction.
The official FIA World Rallycross Championship
Alongside the rally stages, DiRT Rally 2.0 is the official game of the FIA World Rallycross Championship. Eight licensed circuits are included, from Barcelona and Montalegre to Hell, Holjes and Silverstone, complete with licensed Supercars and the support series that race with them. The discipline asks for a different kind of driving entirely: standing starts, contact, and a joker lap that has to be spent at exactly the right moment.
Build a team around the way you drive
- Hire and develop your crew
- Create a team, bring in the staff who keep it running and grow your garage as the calendar progresses. The people you employ shape how quickly damage is repaired and how well prepared you arrive at the next event, which matters more than it sounds when a long championship starts taking its toll.
- Tune for the surface and the style
- Each car can be configured to suit both your driving and the conditions you are heading into. Adjusting the set-up alleviates wear and tear across a championship, and upgrading parts keeps a car competitive rather than leaving you to nurse a tired machine through the closing rounds.
- Over 50 cars, historic to modern
- The roster runs from classic rally icons through to current machinery including the VW Polo GTI R5, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X and Citroen C3 R5, with the Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R waiting for anyone who wants something rather less forgiving. Each generation demands a genuinely different approach behind the wheel.
Career, community and the clock
A single player Career Campaign carries you through a varied selection of events and championships, while Time Trial and Quick Play Multiplayer put your times up against the wider DiRT community and its worldwide leaderboards. Whether you are chasing a podium or simply trying to beat your own split from last week, the target keeps moving.
Pull on the harness, listen for the first call and take the road as it comes. The stage is not going to wait for you to feel ready.
