Diablo III: Battle Chest

Digital

Diablo III: Battle Chest brings together Diablo III and its Reaper of Souls expansion, Blizzard Entertainment's genre-defining action-RPG set in Sanctuary, a world caught in the eternal war between angels and demons. Fight through five acts against the Lords of Hell and the Angel of Death, then keep the hunt going in Adventure Mode, where Bounties and Nephalem Rifts turn every session into a fresh run for better gear.

Five Acts in the War for Sanctuary

Twenty years after the events of Diablo II, a star falls on the cathedral in New Tristram and the dead begin to rise. Deckard Cain, his niece Leah and a mysterious stranger with no memory set the story in motion, and it carries you from the haunted fields of Khanduras through the desert city of Caldeum, the besieged walls of Bastion's Keep and on to the gates of the High Heavens. Along the way you face Belial, the Lord of Lies, and Azmodan, the Lord of Sin, before the Prime Evil itself makes its move.

Reaper of Souls adds Act V. Malthael, once the Archangel of Wisdom, returns as the Angel of Death, seizes the Black Soulstone and unleashes his Reapers on the city of Westmarch. The chase leads through the plagued Blood Marsh to Pandemonium Fortress and gives the story a darker, more personal final chapter.

Six Hero Classes to Master

Each class has its own resource, its own rhythm and a deep pool of skills to build around.

Barbarian
A frontline brawler who builds Fury by landing blows and spends it on earth-shaking Leaps, Whirlwinds and war cries. Barbarians thrive in the thick of a fight and can shrug off punishment that would flatten other heroes.
Wizard
A master of Arcane Power who calls down Meteors, freezes enemies with Frost Nova and can transform into an Archon for a burst of devastating energy. Wizards reward careful positioning with some of the biggest damage in the game.
Demon Hunter
A vengeful ranged fighter armed with crossbows, traps and shadow tricks, balancing Hatred for attacks with Discipline for escapes. Demon Hunters pick enemies apart from a distance and slip away before the horde closes in.
Monk
A holy martial artist who strikes with lightning-fast combos, generates Spirit and spends it on healing, mantras and powerful finishers. Monks move quickly, hit hard and strengthen the whole party with mantras that bolster everyone nearby.
Witch Doctor
A spirit-world mystic who fights with poison darts, swarms of firebats and locusts, and a pack of Zombie Dogs led by a towering Gargantuan. Witch Doctors let their minions hold the line while hexes and curses weaken whatever gets close.
Crusader
Added by Reaper of Souls, the Crusader is a heavily armored holy warrior who swings a flail behind a massive shield, channels Wrath into righteous attacks and calls down the heavens with Falling Sword and Akarat's Champion.

Every active skill can be modified with runes that change its element, shape or effect, so two heroes of the same class can play nothing alike once gear and legendary powers shape the build.

Adventure Mode, Bounties and Nephalem Rifts

Once the campaign is behind you, Adventure Mode opens every waypoint in all five acts and turns Sanctuary into an open playground for character building.

  • Bounties send you across each act on short objectives like slaying a unique monster or clearing out a dungeon. Finish an act's full set and you earn a Horadric Cache packed with gear, crafting materials and gold.
  • Nephalem Rifts are randomized dungeons built from areas and monsters drawn from across the whole game. Fill the progress bar by defeating enemies, summon the Rift Guardian, and claim the reward before diving into the next one.
  • Greater Rifts raise the stakes with timed runs that climb in difficulty level by level. They are where legendary gems are earned and upgraded, and how far a hero can push becomes the real test of a build.

Loot, Crafting and the Paragon Climb

Diablo III is built around the moment a legendary item hits the ground. Drops lean toward your class, and legendary and set items carry powers that can reshape how a skill works entirely. The Blacksmith and Jeweler help you craft and socket gear, while the Mystic lets you reroll a stat or change an item's appearance. Past the level cap of 70, Paragon levels keep every hour of play feeding your progression, and difficulty scales from Normal through the Torment tiers, with better rewards the higher you dare to go. Seasons restart the race with fresh characters, and Hardcore mode puts a hero's life on the line for good.

Fight Alongside Friends

Up to four players can team up online through Battle.net for the campaign, Bounties or Rifts, with monsters growing tougher and rewards richer for every hero in the party. Diablo III runs through Battle.net even when you play alone, so an internet connection and a Battle.net account are part of every session. Friends can drop into your game at any point in the story or the endgame, which makes it just as easy to help a newcomer through Act I as to push a Greater Rift together.

Sanctuary is on the brink again, and it needs the Nephalem. Pick your class, gather your party and find out how deep into the Torment tiers your hero can go.
