Jurassic World Evolution 2

Digital 391

Jurassic World Evolution 2 is Frontier Developments' sequel to its 2018 park management simulation, and it widens the scope in every direction that mattered. Over 75 prehistoric species now roam the roster, including the flying and marine reptiles players asked for, and they behave more like animals than exhibits: claiming territory, testing rivals for dominance and reacting to the world you build around them. Four distinct modes, a new narrative campaign voiced by cast members from the films, and a far deeper management layer make this the most complete Jurassic park builder Frontier has made.

Four Ways to Run the Park

Campaign
An original story set after Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, with dinosaurs loose across the United States. Working alongside Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard), you lead the effort to control, conserve and contain them, learning the systems one facility at a time.
Chaos Theory
Key moments from all five Jurassic Park and Jurassic World films, replayed with a twist. Each level is set in the era and location of its movie and asks what would have happened if you had been in charge, from keeping the original park open through the storm to building the San Diego park that never made it off the drawing board.
Challenge
A test of your management skills against the clock and the elements. Diverse locations bring their own environmental calamities, tight budgets and unforgiving conditions, and the difficulty settings scale from a steady climb to a genuine grind for veterans of the first game.
Sandbox
Every tool, unlimited funds if you want them, and no objectives beyond your own. This is where the creative side of the community lives, building sprawling lagoons, dense forest enclosures and guest districts that would take a campaign playthrough to afford.

A Roster That Feels Alive

The headline additions are the pterosaurs and marine reptiles, housed in purpose-built aviaries and lagoons rather than fenced paddocks. Watching a Mosasaurus surface for a feeding is a set piece the first game simply could not offer. On land, herd animals settle into territories and social groups, carnivores size each other up and fight for dominance, and an animal whose needs are not met will let you know about it in ways that tend to involve a fence.

Bioengineering goes further than before. You can customize species with bold new colors and patterns, and edit genomes to unlock traits that change how an animal behaves, how healthy it is and how long it lives. A well-planned genome is as much a part of a successful park as a well-placed viewing gallery.

Deeper Management Tools

  • Scientists are now individuals with their own skills, salaries and limits. Assign them to research, expeditions and synthesis, but push them too hard and their welfare drops, with consequences that reach well beyond a delayed project.
  • A range of new customizable buildings lets you shape guest amenities, staff facilities and enclosures to suit the site, with the needs of both visitors and dinosaurs to balance as the park grows.
  • Ranger Teams, Capture Teams and the Mobile Vet Unit can be driven directly or given orders from the map, whether that means a routine health check, tranquilizing an escapee or airlifting an injured animal to the paleo-medical facility.

From the Studio Behind Planet Zoo

Frontier Developments has spent more than a decade refining management simulation across Planet Coaster, Planet Zoo and the original Jurassic World Evolution, and that pedigree shows in how much of this sequel is systems talking to each other. Animal welfare, guest satisfaction, staff morale and the weather all feed into a park that either hums along or unravels, and the unraveling is usually the memorable part.

Whether you want to rewrite the fate of Isla Nublar, build the lagoon of your dreams or simply find out how long you can keep a Tyrannosaurus rex behind a fence, Jurassic World Evolution 2 gives you the park and the tools. Pick a mode, hire your first scientist and see what you can keep contained.
